Pennsylvania auto insurance

All motor vehicles subject to registration in Pennsylvania must have liability insurance.

You are in compliance with the law if you have liability insurance in the following amounts:

Bodily Injury Insurance - split limit - 15000 per injured person  limit / 30000 per accident limit
Property Damage Insurance - 5000 per accident

This coverage is bare bones coverage and leaves you the potential for be responsible for meaningful damages that could result in loss of existing assets and future wages. The State of Pennsylvania urges you to consider higher car insurance limits.

Failure to maintain liability insurance on a registered vehicle may result in a three month suspension of your vehicle registration privilege.
